2026 Joanne Lenihan Memorial Jamboree - Rules and Regulations
Please find below some housekeeping items to become familiar with and share with your team before the big weekend!

All teams should arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled game

There will be no admission costs however there will be raffle items for sale, 50/50 draws throughout the weekend, and mini stick and jibbitz sales (cash and tap available)

There is a canteen available on the second floor of the Greenfoot Energy Centre - hours may vary depending on staffing (cash and tap available)

MANAGERS: Please check with the Welcome desk for your teams dressing before the start of your game to communicate with your team

Only 1 parent/guardian per child permitted in the dressing room (if needed). Main floor and dressing rooms are for players, coaches, refs, and volunteers only

Only HNS certified Bench staff are allowed on the bench – no parents!

A welcome bag will be available for pick up from the Welcome desk by your team manager/coach before or after your first game
-
Every U7 player participating will receive a medal, and every U9 player, a memorial puck - these will be provided to teams with your welcome bag

There will be a raffle and 50/50 for sale on the upper level of the Greenfoot Energy Centre

Please direct any questions to a jamboree volunteer who will be located in the main entrance at the Welcome desk

There will be a “sibling centre” in the Multipurpose room on the second floor. Children must be accompanied by an adult when entering

Each team should have their own First Aid kit, however one will be available at the Welcome desk
Parking
-
It will be very busy and parking may become difficult. Please give yourself plenty of time to find a spot
-
Please park in the Greenfoot Energy Centre parking lot or on the street where parking is allowed
-
Please obey street parking rules
U7 games
-
There will be 2 half ice games on the ice for the U7 division at a time. Most U7 games will be played in Rink D with some on Pad C.

Games will be 4v4 and 30 minutes long with a shift change buzzer every 1 minute 30 seconds
-
No goalies are required for these games
-
No referees, no scores will not be kept
-
There will be a zamboni flood every 3rd U7 game
-
Each team should have one coach on skates and on ice for each game to referee and keep the game going
-
Coaches will be responsible for helping move the boards/nets for the flood after their game
U9 games
-
U9 full ice games (where applicable)
-
2 periods of 20 minutes (2 minute warm up and a 1 minute 30 second timer for shift changes)
-
At each shift change buzzer, puck will be left in play and line change will proceed and immediately start the play again
-
There will be a face off after ever goal scored
-
Off sides and icings will be called
-
Penalties will be called, no penalty box, however a change in possession will occur
-
Games will have referees but no scores will be kept per HNS regulations
-
A jamboree volunteer will be on-site to set up the clock for games
-
There will be a zamboni flood after every 2ND U9 game
-
Coaches may be responsible for helping move the nets for the flood after their game
Weather
-
The tournament committee will actively montior any weather systems that may impact the jamboree. Should cancellations be required, the committee will make such decisions 24 hours prior to the impacted day.
